چکیده

In this paper, we test the performance of single and dual frequency GPS and Galileo GNSS receivers in terms of satellite-receiver range estimation. In particular, we focus on the e ects caused by ionosphere and multipath propagation. Therefore, the available pseudoranges are assumed to be contaminated with first-order ionospheric delay and measurement errors produced in the code tracking stage. We used three dual-frequency methods, two ionospheric models (Klobuchar and NeQuick for GPS and Galileo receivers, respectively) and compared their ionosphere-corrected ranges on a Root Mean Square Error basis. The simulation results showed that a dual-frequency receiver is superior to a singlefrequency one, only when the standard deviation of the measurement error is small and when the correlation factor between the two available pseudoranges is higher than 0 4.

Measurements of the dual frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers can be used to calculate the electron density and the total electron content (TEC) of the ionosphere layer of the Earth atmosphere. TEC is a key parameter for investigating the ongoing spatial and temporal physical process of the ionosphere. For accurate estimation of TEC from GPS measurements, GPS satellites and GPS r...

Evaluation of Dual-Frequency GBAS Performance using Data from Public Receiver Networks

This paper examines the effectiveness of two proposed methods for dual-frequency smoothing in Ground Based Augmentation Systems (GBAS) based on data collected in 2010 by clusters of nearby receivers whose measurements are publically available. After an extensive search turned up no ionospheric anomalies, data from several clusters of CORS and IGS stations under nominal conditions was examined, ...

A Concurrent Dual-Band Low Noise Amplifier for GNSS Receivers

In this paper, a new design of concurrent dual-band Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) for multi-band single-channel Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers is proposed. This new structure is able to operate concurrently at frequency of 1.2 and 1.57 GHz. Parallel and series resonance parts are employed in the input matching in order to achieve concurrent performance. With respect to used pse...

Assessment of NeQuick Ionospheric Model for Galileo single-frequency users_REV

The ionosphere is the main error source in GNSS measurements and in extreme cases can degrade significantly the positioning with errors exceeding 100 m; therefore modelling and predicting this type of error is crucial and critical. The ionospheric effect can be reduced using different techniques such as dual-frequency receiver or suitable augmentation system (DGPS, SBAS); the aforesaid approach...
